I am from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie. I graduated from Traverse City Central High School in Traverse City, MI in 2011 and earned my Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Hope College in 2015. At Hope College, I was heavily involved in research in Dr. Greg Fraley’s lab, specifically researching the cecal microbiome of the Pekin Duck.
I recently graduated from the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine.
Since I started my journey in medicine, I have been interested in the intersection of neurology and psychiatry. After experiencing a traumatic brain injury and requiring many months of rehabilitation, my love for the intersection of neuro-psych grew immensely. Patients who have been impacted by TBI, dementia, or experience other debilitating neurological disorders often experience immense life changes. Understanding these changes and localizing new deficits can be critical to treatment and further rehabilitation, and this is where my medical interests lie.
This site is the culmination of updating family and friends from afar, trying to maintain my sanity with a creative outlet, and encouraging others to pursue their interests. I have been immensely blessed to be able to pursue my dreams, from furniture upholstery to interior design to medicine. I want you to pursue yours too.
